David is originally from Connecticut, where he was born and raised and also obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut.
He is what some call a SODA (Sibling Of a Deaf Adult). He is the older brother of a now 44-year old who has been deaf since birth. His wife is also deaf. They have been married for over 16 years, and are the parents of two daughters.
Upon completion of his degree, he began working at the American School for the Deaf (ASD) in West Hartford, CT, where his brother graduated high school, in a variety of roles from classroom aide to dormitory supervisor.
After two and a half years at ASD David completed his graduate degree in School Psychology at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. in 1998.
David has worked for a variety of school systems for over 20 years in Connecticut, Philadelphia, New Mexico, as well as here in California, where he is currently the Principal for Orange County’s Regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, housed in two different schools in Irvine.
He is also pursuing his doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of New Mexico, with an anticipated date to complete course work in the summer of 2018.
